CHICAGO (JUNE 2021) – The Forge: Lemont Quarries, a 300-acre outdoor adventure park located 22 miles Southwest of downtown Chicago at 1001 Main Street, is inviting family, friends, coworkers, adventurers both novice and pro, and everyone in between, to the largest outdoor adventure course in North America. Offering the longest and tallest ziplines in the tri-state area, as well as the region’s most advanced outdoor skills course and pump tracks for BMX and mountain bikes and the three tallest ropes towers in the world, this year-round outdoor adventure park has something for every level, age and ability. The Forge features various aerial challenge courses, climbing towers, ziplines, biking, running, and walking trails, as well as outdoor recreation programming, a designated kids’ activity zone, an amphitheater and food and beverage services. During the summer season, the park is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Admission to the park is free, with tickets available to book in advance for each desired activity.
“So many of us have felt cooped up in our homes this past year, and we think everyone is just yearning to get out and enjoy some fresh air again,” stated Jeremie Bacon, CEO of The Forge. “We pride ourselves on offering an inclusive experience for all, regardless of age and ability, that not only tests personal boundaries, but allows you to have fun while doing so and we can’t wait to welcome everyone in.”
The main showpiece of The Forge: Lemont Quarries is the Eight Towers Adventure, the largest aerial challenge course in the world. Boasting over 10-acres, this adventure course has 5 stand-alone “Hex Towers” interconnected by two miles of ziplines, multiple rappelling stations, and 299 high ropes course elements that are spread across 15 aerial adventure trails. Adventurers of every level are invited to test their personal limits by choosing from three passes: The Soar Experience, which allows participants to glide across one of four quarry ziplines; The Summit Experience, which provides 2 miles of ziplines between towers, rappelling stations and climbing elements; or the ultimate Summit + Soar Experience, which brings the two experiences together for one, full-throttle adventure. The Eight Towers Adventure is also accessible for all. Participants with physical disabilities also have the opportunity to test their limits, as the adventure was designed with the capabilities to lift participants with mobility challenges to climb up and through a level of one of the Hex Towers, and also zip nearly 1,000 feet over a scenic 12-acre lake. Tickets for the various challenge courses begin at $39 per person.
In addition to the Eight Towers Adventure, the property also has an additional 5 miles of running, biking and walking trails, as well as access to paddleboard sports including kayaking, canoeing, and pedal boats; digital activities including AR Adventure Games and Tactical Laser Tag; and The Drop-In, Illinois’ newest, baddest, and raddest bike park.
