Welcome to How I Met My Retirement. This will be a weekly episodic article series.
While my daughter is away at summer camp, we've realized how many of my son's questions and story requests she must field, because out to dinner last night he just kept peppering us with inquiries. I wound up telling stories about past jobs I have had and the insane things that happened at some of them. I have had dozens of jobs throughout my life. As I took my son, and my husband, down the long and windy road of professional mishaps, we all laughed hysterically. One story was inspired by a recent National Geographic episode on the investigation of illegal whale meat in Japan. How can I relate? Stay tuned.
When I was done recounting what I could, my son inserted, "That was like watching How I Met Your Mother", which has been our latest binge watch. We all agreed, and thus, How I Met My Retirement was born.
