Choosing the right high school and knowing how to best adhere to its entrance requirements can be daunting, if not downright intimidating, for parents and students. To help families navigate through the high school process, Chicago School GPS is hosting its 13th annual “Hidden Gems” High School Fair, Sunday, September 29, from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Bennett Day School, 955 W. Grand Ave, Chicago, IL.
Over 35 public and private Chicago area high schools, along with tutoring and enrichment vendors, will be on-site to share counsel and direction on high school options and admissions. Registration is $20/family via prepaid online registration or $30/family at the door (need based fee waivers available).
This is a ‘must-attend’ event for middle school parents and students wanting to learn more about the amazing breadth of public and private high school choices in Chicago and beyond. We know the school search process is daunting and many families don’t know where to start. With continual changes to the CPS high school application, we wanted to help parents get an early start on their school research and make them aware of resources at their disposal. This fair is just one of the many ways Chicago School GPS helps parents plan for their child’s educational success, from preschool to college.
The “Hidden Gem” High Schools Fair will allow each school to do a brief introduction and will feature a selection of 25 minute information sessions for parents and middle schoolers on topics such as the high school application process, high school entrance testing, scholarship opportunities and peer-to-peer student forums.
We’re excited to bring so many resources to middle school parents and students. This is just one of many opportunities Chicago School GPS is offering to help families ‘widen their net’ when looking for a Chicago high school that meets their needs.

About Chicago School GPS
Chicago School GPS grew out of the collective experiences of three Chicago moms who, after wading into the waters of the increasingly confusing and confounding school search process, successfully arrived at their school destinations. Over the years, they felt that there had to be a “better way”, and that their experience in navigating the overwhelming private and public school search could be shared with other Chicago families. From this journey came Chicago School GPS, serving families from preschool through high school.
Chicago School GPS firmly believes that the vibrancy, culture, opportunities and unique setting of Chicago makes it an ideal place to raise families. The team is committed to staying in the city due to their firsthand knowledge that an academically challenging, emotionally nourishing and culturally diverse education can be had within the city limits.
