Chicago Philharmonic and the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China, with support from the China General Chamber of Commerce Chicago, invite you to a free concert and celebration of the 2024 Lunar New Year on February 10, 3PM at the world-class Harris Theater for Music and Dance. This event is an inaugural partnership between these two organizations, which will include a one-hour orchestra concert with Chinese solo artists and a post-concert celebration for all. Featured music includes the Butterfly Lovers Concerto with pipa virtuoso Yang Wei, and Tan Dun's Crouching Tiger Cello Concerto featuring Chicago Philharmonic cellist Mara McClain.
