As we head into the holiday season this year, keep in mind all the anticipated supply shortages and shipping delays. All the items on your shopping list may not be readily available, so the sooner you shop, the better. Due to labor shortages, delays are expected everywhere along the supply chain from manufacturing through distribution. USPS and FedEx have already recommended shipping at least two weeks in advance to get gifts to their recipients on time (UPS suggests calling for lead times.)
So while you may be used to finding everything you need online, this year, it may be more likely that a local, small business, is carrying the inventory you are looking for, and may be the best way to ensure you can get it into your hands to gift on time. It's also a great time to think outside of the (gift) box and get creative.
