BitSpace is a Chicago-based makerspace that's a go-to creative hub for kids ages 8 to 14.

Specializing in woodworking and electronics, they offer engaging hands-on programs throughout the year—think summer camps, day-off camps, Open Shop, and more.

With their space, state-of-the-art tools, and expert guides, BitSpace helps young campers turn their wildest ideas into reality. But the experience is more than just fun; kids also build real-world skills like critical thinking and collaboration as they bring their ideas to life.

Committed to expanding their impact, BitSpace has collaborated with local schools to establish new makerspaces and is actively helping educators ramp up their STEAM programming.

This is our second year doing camp at BitSpace. Even my sassy pre-teen said it was awesome. I really appreciate the way the BitSpace staff help the kids navigate their own creative journey. My kid came out of it not only with a cool project but also skills in both building and arts as well as problem solving and staying focused in a creative process. Would absolutely recommend and we will hope to be back next year!

We've been going to Bitspace for the past three years and my daughter LOVES it. She's the creative type and it allows her to try so many different, and cool, methods. She's built a table and a lamp. It's really incredible. I can't recommend it enough for those looking for something new for their kids to try.

This is our second year enrolling kids in the summer camps, and have had a really great experience. The kids learn safety, are encourage to explore and iterate on their ideas, and build their skills with both virtual and physical tools and the transition between them. They bring an ambitious project to life in a week and present on the last day. What a great place!
